The Westport High School Alumni Association, Inc. was officially formed, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as a Non-Profit Corporation with the Approval of the Secretary of the Commonwealth, William F. Galvin, dated December 9th, 2005.

Article II of The Alumni Assoc.'s Articles of Organization states that our purpose is:

To Encourage Westport Alumni to Bring New Ideas, From All Over the Country, to Continue to Improve the Educational Environment at Westport High School.

Article III sets up the classes of members.

There is an Executive Board Made up of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer who have the ability to raise and disburse funds in conjunction with Article II.

There are 15 "Board Members" who each may cast one equal vote towards guiding the "Alumni Association," towards its goals as specified in Article II and any items that may come before "The Board," in pursuit of the goal that the Alumni Association will be an asset to Education in the Town of Westport, a friend to pursuing like goals of others in the community, and to assist in any needs of our Alumni across the nation and around the world.
Our meetings will take place on line so that our Board Members and Officers can be located anywhere in the world. The President reports to the Board each Friday via e-mail and the Board can call for an "IM" meeting or telephone meeting live or respond to e-mails between the board members. Many communities throughout the country experience the same situations and challenges in their educational facilities as we here in Westport. We Cherish the knowledge of how other communities have solved like situations and will pass these on to the School Board and Board of Selectman for their consideration.
One of our goals is to raise funds through business operations rather than donations. Yes, we do accept donations, however, we prefer to find a way to earn it and thereby not become a burden to the community. We are always looking for ways to accomplish this and look to our members for ideas.
The Alumni Association's only tie to the educational administration here in Westport is that we both desire the best possible education and atmosphere for our students and graduates here at Westport High School.

The Westport Town and School Administration has nothing to do with The Alumni Association's Operations and Decisions and does not have any responsibility in any endeavor the Associations "Board" may direct. The Westport Town and School Administration can not be held responsible in any way for the actions of The Alumni Association.

We follow and believe in a small boys concept of "Pay It Forward." We encourage all of you to read this book or see the movie and research this simple philosophy. It will truly explain how this Alumni Association feels and wishes to operate.
